A range of characters of different ranks will be offered in the game. Starting out as a recruit, players would be presented with opportunities to rise through the ranks, based on their ability to accomplish various missions. The ranks in the game range from enlisted personnel and junior officers to general level personnel. While admittedly it takes a lot more than accomplishing missions to reach a general level rank, due to the short-term nature of the game, the game’s realism in this aspect would have to be compromised a bit. However, we believe that players should be astute enough to not take the game as fully equal to a real-life experience in the Army.
WEAPONRY
As the game would have, among others, the intent to educate the target audience of teenage National Service pre-enlistees, the weaponry featured in the game would be weaponry primarily utilized currently by the Singapore Armed Forces. Such weaponry include, for instance, the M16-S1 rifle, and rifles designed and manufactured in Singapore such as the SAR-21 and the SR-88 rifles. In addition, the range of weaponry would include grenades, MATADOR (an unguided short range anti-armour weapon), and the Bionix II Infantry Fighting Vehicle, among others.
The SAR-21 rifle
This would enhance the realism of the game as well, and give an accurate virtual experience of life in the Singapore Armed Forces. However, due to the fact that this game is Army-centric, the weaponry and equipment featured would only be those utilized by the Army and no Navy or Air Force equipment would be included for the time being.
LANDSCAPES
In order to enhance the realism of the game as well as to make it a uniquely Singaporean training experience, the game would feature familiar landscapes throughout, such as MRT stations.
In addition, it would also feature landscapes unfamiliar to the target teenage National Service pre-enlistee audience, such as the Basic Military Training Centre located at Pulau Tekong, so as to familiarize them with the process of National Service and other sites associated with the Singapore Armed Forces.
